#Raisina2019: The Raisina Dialogue 2019 inaugurated by Norwegian PM Erna Solberg and PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Jan 8: The MEA initiative, Raisina Dialogue 2019 was inaugurated by Norwegian PM Erna Solberg in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and MEA Sushma Swaraj.
Ministry of External Affairs in partnership with Observer Research Foundation is organizing the 4th edition of the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi from 8-10 January 2019. The Raisina Dialogue is India’s flagship annual geopolitical and geostrategic conference.
This year, the theme of the Dialogue is "A World Reorder: New Geometries; Fluid Partnerships; Uncertain Outcomes”. The discussions will pursue to address issues arising from ongoing global transitions and changes to the world order, triggered by unique leaders, innovative partnerships and new technologies.
The dialogue, with the first edition in 2015, grown steadily. This year, in the 4th edition of dialogue, 600 delegates from 93 countries including influential political leaders, strategic thinkers, policy practitioners, technology innovators, business representatives, and academics will be discussed and shared their vision for finding the solutions for future.
In the inaugural speech, Norway PM addressed all the global issues faced by the world. She said, “I have established a high-level panel on ocean technology that will address policy, governance and financial management. Our goal is to come out with a new contract that protects the oceans. The ocean is a common good that interlinks countries. The principle of might is right cannon be used for ocean governance.”
Further, she added, we have to ensure that our citizens feel the positive effects of globalization. We cannot afford to let protectionism, rivalry takes a dominant role.
