Defence Minister launches Constitution Day Youth Club Activities

New Delhi, Nov 18 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched the Constitution Day Youth Club activities on Nov 18. The minister said, the country will be celebrating it's Sixth Constitution Day in the coming week.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said at the occasion that the Constitution of India binds the country in one thread and it is not merely a book that guides the state regarding the socio- political aspects but it is our tradition and cultural heritage. He said, our constitution is for the people, by the people and for the people of India, suggesting the democratic roots of the constitution.
 
He said, beginning of the Constitution day expresses our faith and adherence to the Constitution. The Minister informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi started celebrating the Constitution Day since the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in 2015.
 
He also added that the Constitution teaches us the lesson of unity, integrity, discipline and diversity and its core pillars are freedom, equality, social harmony and goodwill. He urged the youth to come forward to create awareness in the society about the basic tenets of our constitution. He stressed on the need of creating awareness not only about the fundamental rights but also the fundamental duties of a sincere citizen, that the constitution has provided to the citizens.
