Supreme Court okays grand release of ‘Padmavati’

New Delhi, Nov 10: Denouncing all the petition filed against the grand releases of Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Padmavati’, the Supreme Court has cleared the air for the much anticipated Hindi period film of 2017.

Endorsing the authority of the Central Board of Film Certification, the apex court mentioned that the independent certification body will take the final call on the content of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic drama. A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justices AM Khanwilkar, and DY Chandrachud stated that legal machinery should not intervene in the process of Film Certification.

A plea seeking a stay on the release of movie ‘Padmavati’ was filed by the three individuals regarding the content of the flick. Touted to be a 3 D grandeur the film will hit the screens on December 1.
