Mohali, December 10: Responding to the reports of a state-wide ban on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmavati', Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh assured that state government would not prohibit the screening of controversial period drama. Speaking at the programme organized by The Tribune Employees Union, Chandigarh, the Chief Minister mentioned that the producers must ensure the correct projection of the historical tale.

Condemning the personal hate campaign against the lead address Deepika Padukone and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Singh advised concern state governments to take strong action against the fringe elements for posing death threats in the name of protest. The senior Congress leader opined that anything can be shown in Punjab as long as it does not hurt religious sentiments of any section of the society.
