Patna, September 11: Earlier CBI summoned RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav in railway hotel scam. The date was given 11th September and 12th but Lalu did not go today and Tejashwi will not go also. Though Lalu has been trying to avoid the investigation, CBI will give new dates for them.

Yadav cited political commitment as the reason for not going as he was directed to appear in CBI’s New Delhi office. Hence CBI will release new dates for both father and the son but different dates. They will be questioned separately. Even it is being predicted Lalu’s wife Rabri Dev may also be questioned but she will not be called in New Delhi.

The scam involved Lalu and his family’s alleged involvement for leasing out two railway-run hotels, BNR Puri and BNR Ranchi, to a private firm, Sujata Hotels. Lalu was then Central Railways Minister in UPA led government.

In July, CBI registered a case against Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and son, others involved in the case. The case has been registered under Sections 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy). 12 locations linked to Lalu and his family members including in Patna, New Delhi, Ranchi, and Gurgaon had been raided by CBI.
