Al-Shabab fighters stormed military base of Somalia near Kenya border

Mogadishu, September 11: The African nation Somalia has been facing violent Ismalic Terror since a long time. The terrorist group al-Shabab set the country’s army bases as its new target. Again on Monday, Somali border town of Balad Hawo near Kenya witnessed the same scene of violence. Due to an attack on a Somali military base and police station till now 8 soldiers have lost their lives.

The terrorist group linked with Al Qaeda wants to impose a strict Islamic rule in the country. Hence it attacked the capital of the country Mogadishu several times. They want to take away the power of Western-backed government and drive out African Union troops.

As per a report from Reuters, the group took the responsibility of the attack. "First, a mujahid with a car bomb rammed into the military base and then we stormed it," the spokesman of the group Abdiasis Abu Musab said. Though Somali Military put the number of dead soldiers around 10, the group claimed 24 Somali soldiers were killed in the raid.

The residents of the town woke up to a suicide car bomb blast followed by a heavy exchange of gunfire. The terrorist group captured the military base, the police station and most part of the town.
