Kolkata, September 12: Since Mamata Banerjee has taken the charge of Bengal as Chief Minister a row of controversies regarding CM’s comment in public took place. Adding to the list, her latest comment on government employees who are agitating for DA has annoyed them across the state. Judge of Calcutta High court Nithisha Matre has also criticized Bengal CM for such unfortunate comment as she said “don’t bark” addressing state government employees.

During the six year regime of Mamata Banerjee, the state govt. employees did not get their DA properly. Hence they started agitation demanding DA. Earlier the employee union filed a case in Tribunal but there they lost it. Then again they went to High Court. The division bench said it is normal to expect DA against the comment of Government that DA is not right of employees. After the court’s comment, Mamata declared 15% DA but then told, “We are going through financial crisis still I managed to give you DA. So now don’t bark.”

This statement attracted instant criticism from employees across the state. They questioned how CM could compare them to dogs. Law year Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, former mayor of the Bengal capital said it is a very unfortunate comment.

As the case is still ongoing, eventually the discussion on that particular comment from CM started. The Judge said the words CM used during the announcement of DA are very unfortunate and CM should publish gadget notification to validate her announcement.

Whereas DA is very justified demand, how a public representative could insult them in this way, everyone raised the question. In addition to that, a responsible use of words is expected from a Chief Minister. Even people in Social Media criticised the offending comment highly. She has been always in light for making controversial comments but this one has crossed the limit of minimum courtesy.
