Surgical Strike conducted on Indo-Myanmar border; insurgents suffered heavy casualties

New Delhi, September 27: The Indo-Myanmar Border turned into a battleground in the morning of 27th September. The Indian Army informed that firing between own troops and Naga insurgents took place early in the morning where the Nagas had suffered heavy casualties.

 

Eastern Command said that ensuing firefight no casualties were suffered by the Indian Security Forces, While the Nagas have suffered heavily in the firefight which occurred on the border at 04.45 in the morning.


Eastern Command stated further that Indian Army did not cross the Border. While counter attacking insurgents Indian army heavily attacked, due to which the contacts between them broke down and they fled away from the spot.


On 29 September 2016, Indian army conducted a surgical strike eleven days after the Uri attack, the Indian army said it had conducted "surgical strikes" against suspected militants in Pakistani-administered Kashmir. Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on 30 September said that there had been no aerial strikes but the operation had been conducted "on the ground".
