
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar stated that the first session of the budget will be held from January 29th to February 9 and the second session from March 5 to April 6. However, the Union Budget will the last by PM Modi led government.
During the meeting, Mahajan will seek co-operation from the floor leaders of different parties to ensure smooth transaction of business in the House. An all-party meeting has also been convened by the government tomorrow to know about the views of top leaders on pertinent issues.
The first phase of the Budget session will begin on Monday when President Ram Nath Kovind will address a joint session of both the houses. The Budget will be presented on Thursday. During the session, the government is expected to give a fresh push for passage of the Triple Talaq legislation and a bill seeking constitutional status for the OBC commission.
