Amaravati, Dec 20: Andhra Pradesh’s multipurpose irrigation project Polavaram has bagged the prestigious Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) award. Informing about the achievement, the Chief Minister took to Twitter and heaped praises on AP Water Resources Department and Polavaram officials.

Expressing happiness over the development, Naidu said that the top award underlines the state government’s determination and commitment towards the mega project.
On this occasion, AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Puneta, Principal Secretary of water resources Sashibushan Kumar and other officials were present.
Taking a dig at central government and opposition party YSR Congress, the Chief Minister said that Central Board of Irrigation and Power award is nothing but a nasty jolt to those who are creating hurdles in the national project.
He expressed that with the efforts of both workforce and officials, the state government will complete the Polavaram project as per schedule.
