Accomplishing a successful crackdown, Delhi Court directs NIA to send ISIS inspired module members to 12-day Remand

New Delhi, December 27: Accomplishing a commendable job by raiding 16 locations in New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, the National Investigation Agency busted the ISIS terror module detaining 10 involved in the search operation. The Delhi Patiala Court on Thursday has directed the accused 10 people to be sent to 12 days remand.

The National Investigation Agency brought the 10 detained before the Delhi Patiala Court which directed the NIA to send the accused to remand. However the families of the arrested people are seeking permission to meet them and therefore moved separate pleas in the court. Asserting a nod to the plea, the court allowed family members of five accused to meet them inside the court.

Suspecting involvement with a new Islamic State, the NIA successfully busted the IS terror module styled as ‘Harkat ul Harb e Islam’. Lauding the efforts of NIA, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley congratulated them by tweeting, “Well done NIA for cracking the dangerous terrorist module.”

Adding another series of tweet the Union Minister Jaitely took a dig at the UPA government for lack of interception during their regime.

Along with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also praised the efforts of NIA in cracking down the terror module. He congratulated the team and also asserted that it was a huge success for India.

The search operation by the NIA was carried on to raid the places where it was suspected that the new IS terror module was planning to carry out blasts and attacks on top political leaders of the country. Out of the 10 people arrested, it has been noted that the five people detained were from the western Uttar Pradesh district of Amroha following a joint operation with the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad.

During the raid, the NIA recovered cash worth Rs 7.5 lakh along with 100 mobile phones, 135 SIM cards, several laptops and memory cards. The NIA conducted their search in Delhi's Seelampur and UP's Amroha, Hapur, Meerut and Lucknow. Large quantities of explosive material, weapons and ammunition, including a country made rocket launcher were recovered.
