Surat, February 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday after flagging off the Run for New India Marathon in Surat said that the government’s mission is to build a New India which is free from politics of caste, communalism and corruption.
PM Modi on this occasion said, “To build a New India is our mission which is free from politics of caste, communalism and corruption.” He also stated that the central government wants to create an India where every citizen is empowered. “It is the best tribute to the great women and men who gave their lives for India's freedom,” PM Modi added.
The Prime Minister also stated that the Run for New India Marathon aims to create awareness about social causes. He said such marathons augur well for the health of people. “Need for people to realize the dream of New India by 75th anniversary of India's independence in 2022, by converting symbolic run into action,” the PM noted.
PM Modi also urged the citizens of Surat to actively take part in this year's Yoga Day in June and the 'Run for Unity' in October. “Surat is blessed with remarkable determination and it is a city which believes in harmony,” PM Modi concluded. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and many other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
