4 Female Maoists killed by security forces in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, March 26: Four women Maoists were killed during an exchange of fire between security force and left-wing extremists near Dokari ghati in Narayanpatna of Koraput district on Sunday.

While bodies of three Maoists were recovered on Sunday during the search operation, security personnel recovered another body today. The body of another woman Maoist in uniform was found at the encounter site, officials added.

The four ultras are suspected to be members of the Andhra-Odisha Special Zonal Committee of CPI (Maoist).

According to reports, acting on a tip-off a joint team of District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) launched combing operation in the Dokari ghati area.During the combing operation, an exchange of fire erupted between the ultras and security personnel in which four red rebels were gunned down.

The dead are yet to be identified. However, they belonged to the Koraput Division of Andhra-Odisha Special Border Zonal Committee (AOSBZC) of banned CPI (Maoist). Their bodies are being brought to Narayanpatna for further formalities and identification.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition were also seized from the spot. A total of 10 kit bags, 3 SLR, 1 INSAS, 2(.303) rifles and 4 ammunition pouches were recovered from the spot.
