New Delhi, April 2: Amid the ongoing national outrage over the CBSE paper leak, tension has been mounting and soaring high with each coming day. Taking actions against the culprits, the Human Resource and Devlopment Department and the police force have been in undue pressure. Making the atmosphere light and prevailing justice, the Human Resource Development suspended one board official yesterday. Apart from this, the Delhi Police's Crime Branch arrested three persons, including two teachers of a private school, for their alleged involvement in the leak of the Class 12 economics paper.
Human Resource Development Ministry Secretary Anil Swarup announced the suspension of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) official K.S. Rana and the institution of a formal inquiry against him.
Mentioning the news on a series of tweet, Swarup tweeted, "On HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar's direction for swift action against culprits, the CBSE has suspended K.S. Rana, who was found lax in supervising examination centre 0859 with immediate effect. A formal inquiry has been instituted."
He further said that, "Consequent to the arrest of two teachers of Mother Khajani Convent School, Mungeshpur, Delhi, and coaching institute head Tauquir by Delhi Police, for colluding to leak the Class 12 economics paper and a probe carried out by the CBSE, a board personnel K.S. Rana was found lax in supervision.”
The probe revealed that the three were friends for the past four-five years and the money involved was between Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000.
The police zeroed in on Tauqeer through 10 WhatsApp numbers, four of which were provided by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in its complaint, and used for circulating the leaked paper, another police officer said.
The papers circulated through WhatsApp had a location code that matched with that of the code assigned to the private school from where the paper was leaked, the police said.
While after all this, the CBSE has said that the Class 12 economics paper exam would now be held again on April 25.
