Patna, April 27: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked state officials to address the issues of atrocities faced by SC/ST community. Addressing the review meeting of state-level vigilance and monitoring committee, Kumar directed officials to take swift action in order to avoid administrative delays in resolving the same.
vigilance and monitoring committee is formed under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The Chief Minister maintained that victims facing serious problems should be dealt with utmost priority with proper financial assistance. The JD(U) Chief also stressed on the construction of special police stations especially cases involving SC/ST Act.
