Washington, July 28: Arya Samaj cultivates strong ethical and moral values as well as advocates peaceful and productive human living. This was said by Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat on Friday while addressing the 28th Arya Mahasammelan organized by Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, America and hosted by Greater Atlanta Vedic Temple.

 

Acharya Devvrat asserted that Indian civilization was one of the oldest in the world and we need to carry forward our traditions while moving ahead with times. “We should learn every new thing that contributes to the development and was necessary to keep pace with present and future times,” he added.

The Governor further stated that most glorious aspect of our civilization was that it focuses upon instilling humanitarian values in individuals by developing inspiring qualities like empathy, compassion and sensitivity which strengthens a spirit of oneness and brotherhood and promotes peace in the society.

He said that Arya Samaj was established by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in the year 1875 to get rid of social evils from the society. “Swami Dayanad Saraswati has been the cornerstone to the edifice of the strong culturally unify India and his teachings were more relevant in the present scenario,” he added.

“The Arya Samaj was established to propagate true pristine knowledge enshrined in the Vedas. He said that Satyartha Prakash was magnum opus of Maharshi Dayanand and wrote this great book for benefit of all the human beings,” Acharya Devvrat noted.

“The prime object of the Arya Samaj is to do well to the world, that is, to promote the physical, spiritual and social good of everyone. Our conduct towards all should be guided by love, righteousness and justice”, said Acharya Devvrat.

Acharya Devvrat, in the end, appreciated the efforts of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America for organizing such a big conclave to promote love, justice and righteousness towards all, irrespective of race, caste or creed and following the principles espoused in the Vedas, which were universally true for all of mankind.

Acharya Ashish Darshanacharya, Dr Rajendra Vidyalankar OSD to Governor, Dr Vinay Vidyalankar, Acharya Bramdeo Mokoonlall, Dr Balvir Acharya, Dr Sushrut Saamashrami and other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion. Delegates, youth participants, Vedic Scholars, Yoga experts, speakers from around the world were present on the occasion.
