During this interaction, Yoram Dvash expressed concern over the 6 percent tax on polished diamonds and urged the Indian government to reduce the existing tax rate for the common interest of both Indian and Israeli diamantaires. Responding to the plight of Dvash, the Chief Minister assured that issues raised by Dvash will be addressed by the concern agencies.
Underscoring the relation between Gujarat and Diamond, Rupani
observed that many of the Gujarati businessmen have settled in Tel Aviv for the
diamond trade. The Chief also Minister sought the assistance of diamond bourse
in Israel for the development of Surat. He
invited leading Israeli diamond polishing firms for the prestigious
Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
