Typhoon Hagibis in Japan reaches 74; Rescue operations continue to save thousands of lives by edge

Tokyo, October 16: Blowing by the heavy winds and scary showers, the death toll from Typhoon Hagibis in Japan has reached 74 while the search and rescue operations continue to save thousands of lives by the edge.
 
Earlier, it was reported that over 60 people were killed and 15 remained unaccounted for, while 212 have been injured. Japan's NHK broadcaster however confirmed in the early hours of Wednesday that at least 74 people had unfortunately lost their lives.

 
 
"None of the missing have been located and emergency crews continue their search", it added. Typhoon Hagibis has brought heavy rains and winds to Japan, leading to over 100 landslides across the country. Thousands of homes remain submerged in water and with no electricity.
 
Condoling the loss of life caused by Hagibis Typhoon in Japan and praying for early recovery of the injures, PM Modi said, "I offer condolences on behalf of all Indians on the loss of life caused by super-typhoon Hagibis in Japan. I wish early recovery from the damage and devastation caused by this natural calamity".
 
"I am sure that the preparedness and resilience of the Japanese people and the leadership of my friend Shinzo Abe would be able to address the aftermath effectively and quickly", he added expressing confidence in Japanese regime. "Japan’s preparedness against natural disasters is well appreciated. India stands in solidarity with Japan at this difficult hour. Personnel of the Indian Navy, in Japan on a scheduled visit, will be happy to assist immediately”.
