New Delhi, October 21: “Hurt me as many times, I will retaliate with same passion and pride; But, hurt my motherland once, I will rip you off a million times…” Signifying their courage and bravery, Indian Army retaliated to Pakistan's ceasefire violation to aid infiltration into Kashmir. The Indian Army launched a counterattack on terror camps inside Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) opposite the Tangdhar sector. The Indian Army has used artillery guns to target the terrorist camps which have allegedly been trying to push terrorists into Indian territory.
This attack was launched after Pakistan violated ceasefire in the Tangdhar sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, earlier in the day. Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan violated ceasefire killing two Army jawans. Army have also said one civilian named Mohd. Sideeq was martyred. Apart from that, three other civilians were injured in the shooting. According to media reports, the officials have informed that a house, two cars, two cowsheds, and a rice godown have been damaged. 19 sheep and six cattle too have lost their lives in the ceasefire violation.
Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said the Indian side had “caused severe damage to terrorists’ infrastructure across… Six-10 Pakistani soldiers have been killed, three camps have been destroyed”. He added that they had information that terrorists had arrived at camps in the forward areas and said that, in the last one month, with Diwali approaching, repeated infiltration attempts had been made.
Previously on October 4, in a blatant security violation, Pakistan Army had continued to target civilians along the Line of Control (LoC), this time killing an 18-year old Kashmiri youth in the Kamalkote sector, Uri district in Jammu-Kashmir. Pakistan Army has been committing ceasefire violations for the past 24 hours in the area. The Pakistan Army was reportedly targeting Indian Army posts as well as the civilian population as mortar shells were used by the Pakistan Army in this unprovoked firings.
The Indian Army had last targeted terrorist launch pads in February this year, after the deadly Pulwama attack, hitting a Jaish-e-Mohammed camp in Balakot, deep inside Pakistan. Earlier, in September 2016, the Army had carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC. Unlike that time, Saturday night’s attacks on terrorist launch pads were conducted from within Indian territory.
