Ranchi, October 22: Seeping into every nook and corner and abiding to its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal activities, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a charge-sheet against eleven people of proscribed Naxal organisation of Jharkhand. The charge-sheet was filed pertaining to funding the People’s Liberation Front in India (PLFI), Jharkhand’s Naxal organisation.

Filing the charge-sheet under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), the probe agency seeks in taking action against criminal conspiracy, extortion, cheating on personation and using as genuine a forged and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. India has acted strongly and has a strong voice against terror funding and terror related illegal activities. However, these accused were charged for raising funds through extortion and investing it into banking channels. Not only this, the accused invested in dubious shell companies which are in the name of Dinesh Gope, supreme of the PLFI organisation.
The NIA had first filed a charge-sheet against this group in the year 2016 when the Jharkhand Police recovered the demonetized currency worth Rs 25 Lakhs from PLFI. This money was however deposited to the bank account of a petrol pump owned by one of the accused. Filing the first charge-sheet four accused were arrested in 2017. Following this, the police filed its second charge-sheet following the criminal conspiracy in raising terror funds by the people involved in the Naxal organisation.
The NIA conducted searched in various places like Jharkhand, West Bengal, and New Delhi leading to recovery of huge cash worth Rs 45 Lakhs, laptops, mobile phones, and incriminating documents related to extortion and investment in properties.
Interestingly, the PLFI organisation transferred this exhorted money to various other places through ‘hawala’ operators. Through a thorough investigation, it has been revealed that transaction of Rs 2.5 crores has been done in the name of those dubious shell companies of Dope.
