The more diyas lit, the more darkness moves away; US President Trump extends Diwali wishes from White House

Washington, October 28: The festival of lights was all fun in India, but seemingly was also joyous for the Indian community in Washington. The US President, citing the occassion, lit diyas at the White House, extending every Indian with prosperous and healthy festival vibes.
 
"As Diwali commences, Melania and I wish those observing the Festival of Lights a blessed and happy celebration! Happy Diwali", he said tweeting a video of him lighting lamps.
 
 
"For many Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists in the United States and around the globe, this sacred period is an opportunity to commemorate the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance", he added.
 
Throughout Diwali, this holy time, members of positive faiths engage in prayer, light diyas and lanterns, and partake in traditional feasts and other festivities with friends and family. The observance of Diwali throughout America is an important reminder of the significance of one of our Nation’s core tenetsreligious liberty.
Further praying for love, joy, and eternal peace, Trump said that he and his administration would continue to defend the rights enshrined in the Constitution that enable people of all faiths to worship according to their beliefs and conscience.
 
While PM Modi celebrated Diwali with the Indian Army at Line of Control in Rajouri, this was his third instance to celebrate the auspicious festival with the troops in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Thursday extended his Diwali wishes to his Twitter followers while underlying the values and beliefs of the festival.
