New Delhi, October 28: Not once or twice, Pakistan has been acting naïve and amateur in rejecting request by India to use its airspace for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Saudi Arabia visit. While the entire world has supported and moved on with Kashmir issue being India’s internal matter, Pakistan is still using it as a tool to cry and seek attention from the globe. In this perspective as Pakistan rejected request of permission to use its airspace, India moved to International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) as the neighbouring nation’s denial is violation of the ICAO charter.

Travelling for a bilateral visit, India has sought overflight clearance from Pakistan for the Prime Minister’s aircraft to go to Saudi Arabia. Citing alleged human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan on Sunday denied India’s request to allow PM Modi’s aircraft to move in its airspace for the visit. India regrets Pakistan’s decision to yet again deny overflight clearance for the VVIP special flight which is otherwise granted routinely by any normal country.

India has taken up the issue of denial of overflight clearance with the relevant international civil aviation body. In a statement on Sunday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has decided to not allow Prime Minister Modi to use the country’s airspace, state-run Radio Pakistan reported. He said the decision has been taken in context of the “black day” and in view of the alleged human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir, it added.

Pakistan has been misleading the entire world and also has been exposed when it comes to Kashmir issue. While the world has sought its opinion on Kashmir being an integral part of India, the international community has quite often rejected Pakistan’s plea for mediation. However, it is sad and unacceptable that Pakistan which tries to portray a different image of India commenting on how the Kashmiri’s are tortured and harassed have themselves forgotten that it’s a ‘soil of terrorists’ and it needs to take strict action against those planning and plotting terror activities and illegal acts.
