Best wishes for second term: PM congratulates Manohar Lal Khattar for becoming CM of Haryana once again

Chandigarh, October 28: After the consecutive victory in Assembly Elections, Manohar Lal Khattar took oath as the Haryana chief minister for a second term on Sunday. JJP leader Dushyant Chautala took oath as his deputy. Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya administered the oath at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan here on Diwali. The full Cabinet will take oath after Diwali.

 
The ruling BJP has made history by returning to power for a consecutive term. This is the first time that BJP has managed to form government again after coming to power in 2014 assembly polls. Total of 57 MLAs, 40 of the BJP, 10 of the JJP and seven Independents have come together to form the government.
Manohar Lal Khattar is the 10th Chief Minister of Haryana. He won from Karnal constituency in Haryana Legislative Assembly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated M. L. Khattar and Dushyant Chautala.
 
Khattar joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1977, and became a full-time pracharak three years later. He moved to the BJP in 1994. During 2000–2014, Khattar was Organizational General Secretary of the BJP in Haryana. He was the Chairman of BJP's Haryana Election Campaign Committee for 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. Subsequently, he became a member of BJP's National Executive Committee.
 
Khattar announced that Haryana will have an all-woman police station in each district and around 500 woman constables will be recruited. He also started a 24×7 portal called Harsamay through which anybody can file a complaint online. He took many praiseworthy decisions in his state such as introduction of biometric attendance system in government offices, effective implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao shceme, merit based transparent recruitment, initiating several development works, etc.
