Lionizing honors for Sardar Patel on his 144th birth anniversary, PM Modi pledges to continue strive for national integration

Kevadiya, October 31: Bowing down in honors for the leader who strived for national integration and who was completely uncompromising in order to make a newly liberated united India, PM Modi paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 144th birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat's Kevadiya district today.
 
While the Prime Minister is slated to participate in the 'Ekta Diwas Parade' and administer the oath of national integration before heading to Vadodara, MHA Amit Shah, flagged off a run to commemorate Patel’s birth anniversary in the national capital.
 
 
The ‘Run for Unity’, which began from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, saw the participation of a large number of people, including sports personalities, sports enthusiasts and personnel of central police forces among others. "Run for Unity program is being held in different cities and villages across the country today. India is known for 'unity in diversity’; it is our pride and our identity", said PM Modi.
 
"Sardar Sahib always spoke about unity of purpose, unity of aim and unity of endeavour", he added thanking lakhs of people pan India to particiapate in the Run for Unity. Further moulding his supreme words to he matter of Kashmir, PM Modi said, "Article 370 only gave separatism and terrorism to Jammu and Kashmir".
"It was the only place in the country where Article 370 was present, where in last 3 decades, over 40,000 people got killed and several mothers lost their sons due to terrorism. Now this wall of Article 370 has been demolished", he stated adding that 2019 was the first year when BCD elections were held there and 98 per cent people voted.
 
National Unity day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year on 31st of October by the people all through India. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day was introduced by the Government of India in 2014 with the aim of celebrating this event every year on 31st October.
The aim of introducing this event is to pay tribute to the great man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his birth anniversary by remembering his extraordinary works for the country. He really worked hard in keeping India united.
 
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India worked hard to make India an United India. He also requested the people of India to live together by uniting in order to create Shresth Bharat. Being the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India, he played a most important role in the integration of many Indian princely states to make a an Indian federation.
 
Patel's dedication for the national integration was completely uncompromising in order to make a newly liberated united country. His dedication towards the unity in country made him able to integrate more than 500 independent princely states in 1947 to 1949 from the British rule through the Independence Act 1947.
