Along with hand of blessing, Sports Minister felicitates Wushu champions with cash prizes

New Delhi, November 14: Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju today felicitated India’s medal winners at the Wushu World Championships. Praveen Kumar, Yumnam Sanathoi Devi, Poonam Khatri and Vikrant Baliyan were felicitated with cash prizes.

 

Gold meddler Praveen Kumar was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 20 lakh while silver meddlers Yumnam Sanathoi Devi, Poonam Khatri were given Rs. 14 lakh each. Rs. 8 lakh cash prize was given to Vikrant Baliyan for winning Bronze.

 

“I am very happy that four players have clinched medals from the Worlds. I praise the wushu federation for their good work. I have the belief that with the kind of performance they are putting up, Wushu athletes will bring home medals in 2024 Olympics,” said Kiren Rijiju.
