'Do not heed to needless rumours; Lata didi is stable and getting better', family tweets veteran's health on her behalf

Mumbai, November 15: Amidst needless rumours and reactions about the health of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, her family pn Friday has confirmed that she was stable and getting better. Mangeshkar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Breach candy Hospital on Monday, leaving India to worry for her condition.
 
"Lata didi is stable and getting better. Request to please do not heed to needless rumours and react. Let us all collectively pray for her long life instead", her PR team said. Meanwhile the hospital also said the singer is showing some signs of improvement but it would take time for her to recover.
 
 
"She is showing some signs of improvement but it will take time for her to recover. She has pneumonia and chest infection. Any person suffering from it takes time to recover from it", the statement read.
Charming people all across the globe with her melodious voice, there arouse the only nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar, who gradually made all the generations get insane for her voice! Ages passed but the lady has defied the law of gravity for more than 50 years by staying firmly ensconced in her position.
 
From early on Lataji was recognized as being highly gifted musically and her natural talent meant that she could master the vocal exercises effortlessly on first pass that marked her entrance into music world by competing with the strong and powerful voices of 1940s like Noorjehan, Shamshad Begum and Zohrabai Ambalewali and faced setbacks.
 
In her over seven-decade career, Mangeshkar has sung more than 30,000 songs across languages. She is considered one of the greatest playback singers in Indian cinema. She received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, in 2001.
