Celebrating the land of bravery, compassion! PM Modi, President greet Jharkhand on its Statehood Day

Ranchi, November 15: Jharkhand has always been synonymous with bravery and compassion where people live in harmony with nature, excelling in various fields to their hardwork. Celebrating 144th birth anniversary of noted freedom fighter Bisra Munda and 19th formation day of the state, PM Modi has extended his warm wishes to the people of Jharkhand. 

 
“Many congratulations to the people of Jharkhand on the foundation day of the state. I wish Jharkhand to touch new heights of progress and realize Lord Birsa Munda's dream of a prosperous, strong and happy state. Greetings to the people of Jharkhand on their Statehood Day", he said taking to social media this morning.
"May Jharkhand keep scaling new heights of progress and realise Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s dream of a prosperous and happy state”, he added. Meanwhile, President Ram Nath Kovind also greeted the Jharkhand citizens on it's Statehood Day.
"Jharkhand! Congratulations and best wishes to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of Foundation Day. Jharkhand is a state with rich natural resources and rich culture, which we are all proud of. I wish Jharkhand to attain new heights of progress with the blessings of Lord Birsa Munda", he said.
 
Jharkhand, the land of forest, a state in eastern India was created on 15 November 2000, from what was previously the southern half of Bihar. After the Independence of India, there was demand for a separate state by several political organisations in the region and the Bihar Reorganisation Act, 2000 passed in Parliament, giving rise to the new state of Jharkhand.
 
The state still suffers from what is sometimes termed a resource curse, accounting for more than 40 per cent of the mineral resources of India with 39.1 per cent of its population below the poverty line. The state is primarily rural, with only 24 per cent of the population living in cities. Jharkhand is among the leading states in economic growth where in 2018-19, the state GSDP growth rate stood at 10.22%.
