Staying committed to protect tribal rights, govt to withdraw draft of amendments to Forest Act

New Delhi, November 15: Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar today announced that the government has decided to withdraw the draft prepared for amendments to the Indian Forest Act, 1927.
 
This decision has been made on the occasion of the Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s Jayanti today. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said, this government will not take any adverse steps for the tribals. He said the government is committed to strengthen the rights of the forest dwellers and tribals.
 
The Minister further assured that the government is serious in its efforts to curb the pollution level in the national capital. cooperation of all pollution affected States and agencies are required to reduce the pollution level.
