Restoring normalcy, providing basic amenities; Amit Shah introduces new Kashmir shutting out deceptive claims

New Delhi, November 20: Shutting out all the misleading allegations on how disruption in Jammu and Kashmir prevailed and how people still suffer under the clampdown, Union Minister Amit Shah in a dignified manner placed the facts and figures stating normalcy has been restored in the newly formed Union territory. Availing all possible facilities with medical conditions to basic amenities, Shah reiterated that the region is moving back on its normalcy track.

 

Speaking on the floor of the Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah said that the Jammu and Kashmir local authorities will take a call on the restoration of internet services in the Valley. Commenting on the security condition in Kashmir, Shah asserted that there are activities by Pakistan in Kashmir, and therefore when the local authorities deems it fit, a decision on the same will be taken. The Home Minister informed that medicines are available in the Valley and hospitals are functioning normally. “Mobile medicine vans have also started. The administration has taken care of health services,” he said. Along with this, Shah added that all newspapers, tv channels, banks, courts, government officers, schools are functioning normally.

 

When Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad raised objections, Shah challenge him to counter the facts presented by him on record. “I challenge Ghulam Nabi Azad sahab to counter these facts which I presented, why don’t you object to these figures on record? I am willing to discuss this issue for even an hour,” he said.

 

Amit Shah also said that after August 5, the day Article 370 was scrapped, not even a single person has died in police firing. People in this house were predicting bloodshed but I am happy to inform that no one has died in police firing. Incidents of stone pelting have declined.

It was on Tuesday, MHA in the parliament stated that there were no stone pelting activities in the region after the Article 370 was scrapped. Replying to a query in the Parliament, the Ministry of Home Ministry on Tuesday asserted that stone-pelting in Jammu and Kashmir has declined since the scrapping of Article 370. It stated that, since August 5, 2019, to November 15 2019, 765 persons have been arrested in 190 cases registered relating to stone-pelting. From January 1, 2019, to August 4 2019, 361 number of such cases were registered.
