Addressing the delegates in the national capital on 26th of November, the Minister said that the government is trying to increase the export of milk products, but some countries deliberately look for deficiencies in India's products.
"Milk production in India has gone up from 137 million tonnes to 187 million tonnes and farmers have benefited immensely", he said recalling Dr. Verghese Kurien's significant contribution to increasing milk production. Ministers of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan and Pratap Chandra Sarangi along with other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
