Taking remarkable step ahead, AYUSH Ministry inaugurates National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders

New Delhi, November 4: Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik inaugurated National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders (NRIUMSD) upgraded from Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine (CRIUM) in Hyderabad.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Naik lauded success of the CRIUM in the treatment of vitiligo and other chronic and stubborn diseases and said that it’s perhaps the only medical institution in the world which has treated more than 1.5 lakh patients of Vitiligo alone.

“CRIUM is probably the only medical institution in the world which has treated more than 1.5 lakh patients of vitiligo alone and which has also developed multiple drugs for vitiligo. In the next three to four years the public in every district of the country will be able to get the benefit of treatment at Ayush hospitals. Over 100 such hospitals of 50 bed capacity each have been established and more proposals are coming from state governments,” Informed the Minister. 

 

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy called the researchers to find safe and viable solutions to prevalent health challenges, such as vector borne diseases, non- communicable diseases, cancer and tuberculosis.
