Mumbai, November 06: While the state of Maharashtra is facing a strive for power involving the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena and Congress-NCP, veteran politician and economist Subramanian Swamy has urged Shiv Sena to join the BJP to form the state government.

"I urge Shiv Sena to find a way to join with BJP to form the Government. It is true Shiv Sena has genuine grievances about BJP leadership as do many stalwarts in BJP also have", he said taking to twitter on Wednesday.

This is probably because both the parties, the BJP and Shiv Sena, pan India are fighting for a mutual docket named Hindutva, that according to Swamy requires more unity. "The cause of unity in Hindutva forces require patience for one more decade", he affirmed adding that it was thus best to bear each other in Maharashtra.

The BJP won 105 seats in the Assembly polls, results of which were declared on October 24, while the Sena got 56. However, the two parties, which fought the polls in alliance, have got caught in a stalemate over the chief minister's post, with the Sena demanding equal division of the top post's tenure and the BJP rejecting it.
Amidst an impasse, CM Devendra Fadnavis last week met MHA Amit Shah in New Delhi, assuring the hurried procedures. "The new Govt will be formed soon, I am confident", he had said after the meeting. However, the Shiv Sena, Marathi regional and Hindutvadi Hindu nationalist political organisation in Maharashtra stated that the new CM would be a Shivsainik.

No body till date from Shiv Sena, except for Manohar Joshi (1995-1999) has been the state Chief Minister. With Aditya Thackrey, the descendent of Party chief Uddhav Thackrey, winning the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election from the Worli constituency of Mumbai, the party has turned hopeful for the power in Maharashtra.
