Haryana Assembly Session adjourned sine die

Chandigarh, November 6: Haryana Assembly Session was adjourned sine die today. The house today passed two bills, Haryana Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and Haryana Service of Engineers, Group A, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department (Amendment) Bill.

 

The amendment to the Haryana Goods and Services Tax is made to remove the certain difficulties being faced by the new tax regime. One of the major inconvenience caused to the taxpayers especially small and medium enterprises was the process of filing return and payment of tax under the GST laws.

The taxpayers also faced problems on account of disbursal of refunds wherein they had to approach both the Central and State authorities. Similarly, problems were also faced in taking refunds if the tax was deposited under the wrong head.

It was the first session of new State Assembly of Haryana and on the first day, BJP MLA from Panchkula Gian Chand Gupta was unanimously elected as Speaker of the house. The Deputy Speaker of the house would be elected later.

On the sidelines of the session, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the Cabinet expansion will take place soon. He also told that a committee is being formed under the chairmanship of senior BJP MLA Anil Vij, which will come out with a 15-Point Programme of BJP-JJP Alliance Government.
