Ayodhya, November 09: It is the function of Lord Rama to destroy evil, wherever it occurs and it is equally the function of Lord Rama to give to his devotees, a free charter of irrevocable self-government! Waking ahead in the justice to 'Ram Lalla' and thousands of karsevaks who led their lives for the Ram Janmbhoomi land, the Supreme Court of India, in its landmark, historic decision affirmed to give the possession of the disputed land to Hindus. "While the Centre is to formulate a scheme within 3 months, Muslims must be given alternate land", the verdict read.

Holding its base on ASI reports CJI Gogoi said that the underlying structure at the disputed land was not of Islamic origin and that the Babri Masjid was not built on a vacant land. "Its a unanimous verdict. Suit filed by Nirmohi Akhara is barred by limitation. Ram janmabhoomi is not a legal personality but the deity is a juridical person and that the Archaeological Survey of India's report cannot be brushed aside", said CJI ranjan Gogoi while reading out the verdict.

The Court, while deciding to give away the complete Ayodhya's disputed land to the Hindu community, affirmed to give 5 acre separate land to the Waqf Board for the Masjid.

"The underline structure was not of Islamic and the existence of temple structure is supported by evidence. But also the ASI does not support whether the temple was demolished. The faith and belief of the Hindus that Ram was born in Ayodhya is undisputed. The disputed site was used for offering worship by the devotees by both faiths", he added.

Respecting faith of both the parties in the Ayodhya land, SC further said that Muslims parties did not bring evidence to show possessory title and that mere cessation of namaz by Muslims could not lead to inference that mosque was abandoned and they lost possession. "There is no evidence to show the offer of Namaz by Muslims to the exclusion of Hindus. Hindus have been able to establish unimpeded possession of outer courtyard", the court affirmed further ordering to give another land for the Masjid.

This is after the bench of Justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer, apart from CJI Gogoi, on October 16 reserved its judgment after a marathon hearing of 40 days. While the court was to deliver its verdict by November 14, this year, it is believed that this sudden announcement was a part of a strategy to keep the anti-social at bay, to avoid give them any opportunity to prepare for any kind of conspiracy, ahead of the announcement.
