New Delhi, Nov 9: This has happened for the first time in the history of Independent India. Hundreds of Muslim groups, individuals, intellectuals, religious personalities, scholars have come out in the open to appeal the Muslims and Hindus to maintain peace, harmony and brotherhood against the verdict on Ramjanmasthan-Ayodhya dispute.

The verdict is awaited today in a few minutes from now.

Initiated by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) under the benign leadership of Indresh Kumar, senior RSS functionary and MRM Patron, this campaign soon spread to the entire length and breadth of the country displaying its positive effects.

The senior MRM functionaries including National Conveners Mohd Afzal, former Rajasthan Wakf Board President Abu Bakar Naqvi, Vice-Chairman of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) Dr Shahid Akhtar, Islam Abbas, Adv. Shahin Pervez, Prof Shabana Azami, and many others have fanned out in their respective areas making a fervent appeal to the people to maintain peaxe and tranquillity.

Muslims have revered Sri Rama. Even famous poet of yesteryears Allama Iqbal had described Sri Ram and ‘Imam-e-Hind’. That is why, the MRM appeal issued against the possibility of the verdict has been received by the Muslims and their organization in a most positive way. The response generated to this initiative by the MRM and other organizations is tremendous and historical.

The MRM activists, according to a rough estimate, must have conducted over 500 to 1000 meetings among the Muslim localities involving all and sundry all over the country and thus could have contacted lakhs of Muslims making them understand the issue in its right perspective.
