Nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindhya region to get pure water through pipes

Lucknow, December 25: This is good news for Bundelkhand and Vindhya region, which has been facing water crisis for a long time. The population of these areas will be provided with pure drinking water through pipes. This scheme, designed for all rural areas, is going to be started from a total of nine villages in these two areas. The cabinet approved the proposal on Tuesday. To provide drinking water through pipes in Bundelkhand and Vindhya region, the government has made a provision of Rs 3000 crore in the budget for the current financial year.

86 thousand crore rupees were made to provide pure drinking water through 100 percent pipe to all rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi government is going to start implementing the scheme from those areas where there is a lot of drinking water problem. Pure piped drinking water is to be delivered in a phased manner to the entire population of Bundelkhand and Vindhya region. Based on the scope of work and feasibility report under the project, four consultancy firms have been selected to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of the scheme in a total of nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindhya region.

Third party inspection will be arranged to ensure the quality of the scheme. For 10 years operation and maintenance will be carried out from the respective working firms. In lieu of this, the public user will be charged. If the user charge is not able to operate and maintain, then the remaining amount will be arranged from the budget. At the same time, the cabinet approved the proposal regarding the deployment and deputation of officers of Jal Nigam and Irrigation Department.
