Hyderabad, Dec 26: When the entire country was witnessing violent protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat gave a call of unity and said that the RSS considered all those who love this country as Hindus and any efforts to divide Indian society would not succeed.

In the RSS lexicon, Bhagwat said, irrespective of religion and ways of worship, all those who consider India as their motherland, love ‘jal, jungle and zameen’ of this country, respect the culture and heritage and nurture nationalistic spirit, are Hindus. “The RSS considers 130 crore people of this country as Hindus”, he categorically stated.

Bhagwat was addressing a public meeting organized on the occasion of the three-day ‘Vijay Sankalp Sibiram’, a Telangana state-level RSS event here. BV Mohan Reddy of Cyient Technologies attended the meeting as the chief guest. Around 7,705 RSS swayamsevaks are attending the ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Sibiram’.

He said that the RSS considered entire Indian society as one and aspired to build such a united society. When the Sangh says Hindu, it includes all those who believe India is their motherland, love its people, water, land, animals and forests and who reflect in their life the great culture and traditions which consider the entire creation as manifestation of one divinity and look at it with friendliness and care for their welfare, he explained.

“The son of mother India, whether he may speak any language, from any region, follow any form of worship or not believing in the worship of any, is a Hindu,” he said.

Bhagwat said RSS accepts one and all; thinks good of them. and desired to take them to a higher level for betterment.

The RSS Chief’s statement makes a significant call against the vitiated atmosphere in the country due to widespread protests and violent agitations all over the country regarding CAA and NRC.

Elaborating on the RSS viewpoint on unity in diversity, Bhagwat said that we believed in this principle but we see this as different shades of one eternal truth ‘Satya’. Our country goes one step ahead. It is not just unity in diversity, it is the diversity of unity. We are not searching for unity in diversity, we are searching the unity from which the diversity sprang out and there are different ways to achieve unity, he said.

All those who follow different forms of worship are considered as children of Bharat Mata, irrespective of their language or region,” Bhagwat declared. The RSS chief said that the main work of the outfit was to unite the people of the country. “We practice this daily for one hour in our shakhas,” he added.

Selfless people will bring transformation

The Sarsanghchalak further said that the RSS always believed in achieving victory through ‘satvik’ means. A Satvik person has no self-interest and therefore is the best instrument to bring about the desired transformation in society. He always has kindness and love in his heart and strives for the welfare of others, Bhagwat said adding that this satvik nature is deeply rooted in this land.

The aim of the RSS was to make Bharat Mata a “Vishwa Guru” (universal teacher), he said. “We want victory for the country and Bharat Mata through Satvik means. RSS workers always want universal peace,” he emphasized. But this world is more dominated by the ‘Tamasik’ and ‘Rajasik’ forces, he lamented.

The Hindu culture is competent enough to achieve the victory of ‘dharma’ and an organized Hindu society can guide the world through these turbulent times, he said stating that the change in the country would be seen not because of the politicians but because of the selfless people, the RSS Chief said.

Bhagwat quoted from Rabindra Nath Tagore to drive his point home. Tagore in his "Swadeshi Samaj", wrote that despite some inherent contradictions between Hindus and Muslims, Hindu society was capable of finding solutions in a Hindu way to unite the nation.

That solution for uniting the nation would come through a Hindu means. The RSS wants that every village and basti in the country stay united without differences,” Bhagwat added.
