Patna, December 26: The stray tigers from the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bihar have been causing trouble in the surrounding areas. But now their drone is being prepared for tracking. This will make it easier to search for stray tigers and return them to VTR. Day or night, winter or summer, this will allow tigers to be monitored easily. Night vision cameras will also be installed in the drone to keep an eye on the night. In the first phase, the VTR administration has procured two drones.

Straying of tigers from VTR has increased during the last two years. The tigers are reaching from the farms to the residential areas. They have attacked and injured many people. Many have hunted goats, buffalo and calves. Due to this, there is a panic in the surrounding villages including Jamoli, Sisai, Mungraha, Sherpur, Manitola, Matiaria and Govardhana surrounding the VTR. In view of this, it was decided to use the drone to keep an eye on the tigers and return to the VTR.

In view of this, two drones have been purchased for three to three lakh rupees to monitor the activities of the dam. These drones will fly at an altitude of 50 meters to gather data related to the presence of tigers in the vicinity. If tigers come out of the forest, it will be able to get information in advance. They can be sent back. Loss of life and property will be reduced.

VTR's Area Director and Forest Conservator HK Rai said that monitoring will begin via drones from February. For this, one week training will be given to the employees. The drones will come back after collecting data for flying half an hour. More drones will be purchased after the success of the first phase.
