Making Gujarat more develop, govt clears 9 town planning schemes

Gandhinagar, December 27: The Government of Gujarat has cleared several draft schemes and town planning (TP) schemes for Bhavnagar, Nadiad, and Ahmedabad and has also approved the development plan for Dhoraji town today.

Among approved TPs are TP 28 (Nava Vadaj) green belt and 02 Thaltej (first amendment), Nadiad final TP 04 and 05, Bhavnagar developing area 04 draft TP schemes 23 (Tarmasiya), 24 (Chitra), 25 (Fulsar), 25 (Nari), Vadodara 25 (Special knowledge nod-2, technology park).

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani approved 9 (nine) Town Planning (Town Planning) Schemes for planned development of urban habitats in a span of a single day here today.

These include two preliminary schemes of Ahmedabad (including Nava Wadaj Green Belt No.28 and Thaltej First Changes No.02) and two final schemes of Nadiad.

The one draft scheme of Vadodara includes Knowledge Node No. 02 comprising Technology Park Bapod-Hanumantpura-Enol-Khatamba. Plans include 321 ha, besides Rs.400-crores under TP Scheme No.4, including 58 ha for roads, 10 ha for parks and gardens, open plots, social infrastructure, commercial and residential 42 ha, 5 ha for EWS residential).

The four draft schemes of Bhavnagar, considered to be Paris of Saurashtra (Tarsamiya No.23, Chitra No 24,Fulsara No. 25 and Nari No. 26) are being viewed as a special case on 880 ha with an estimated cost of Rs.400-crores — including 130 ha for roads, 52 ha for parks and gardens, open plots, etc., 32 ha for EWS residential, 75 ha for commercial and residential.

He also gave preliminary approval to Dhoraji Development Plan, including extending the area under residential and industrial purposes in the map.

The Chief Minister thus approved 100 TP schemes and 12 Development Plans as part of his transparent and fast governance during 2019 for the second successive year — including 29 drafts TP schemes, 40 preliminary TP schemes and 31 final TP schemes.

City-wise it is Ahmedabad 46, Surat 15, Rajkot 8 and Others 31. A similar feat of century was achieved in 2018, too. The feat of two centuries of TP schemes approved in two years is an all-time record for the state of Gujarat. The aim is also no pendency.

The stress has been given to infrastructure: namely roads, drainage, drinking water, street light, etc. After the approval of preliminary schemes, the respective development authorities will take up the roads.
