Ayodhya extends section 144 till 25 February 2020

Ayodhya, December 28: To maintain peace, the term of section 144 in Ayodhya of UP has been extended till 25 February, 2020. This decision has been taken by the local administration. The District Magistrate has issued an order saying that all programs will be stopped. Without permission, no program will be held in the district.

In fact, Section 144 has been extended in Uttar Pradesh till 31 January. Internet service is still suspended in 21 districts. As conditions improve, the District Officer can restore Internet service at his discretion. So far, 1,246 people have been arrested in UP during the violence against the Citizenship Act. The police informed this matter on Friday. The UP Police has said in a statement that '1,246 people have been arrested in connection with the violence, while 5,558 people have been detained.

 

Along with this, it was also said in the statement that a total of 372 FIRs were registered in connection with the violence that erupted during the protest. Action has also been taken against those who post inflammatory posts on social media. The police said in its statement that, '125 people have been arrested for writing provocative posts. 95 FIRs were registered under the IT Act. The action was also taken on 20,950 social media posts.
