Patna, December 30: In Bihar, several parts of the state continue to reel under intense cold wave with many parts enveloped in dense fog. Roads and markets wore a deserted look as most of the people preferred to stay indoors due to severe cold.

Gaya as the coldest place in the state recorded 5.3-degree Celsius temperature while Patna recorded 6.8 degrees. The Met department has issued an alert for the next three days. Most of the schools in several parts of the state have been closed till 2nd January in view of intense cold. Train services have been hit due to prevailing foggy conditions. Over two dozen trains passing through Bihar have been canceled. Air traffic has also been affected due to low visibility.

According to the weather scientists, "the weather is going to get colder. Many cities, including Patna and Gaya, will be under a blanket of dense fog during the morning. There can be a relief for people from light sunshine in the afternoon. Some areas may also receive light rain on January 1 and 2."

On Sunday, Patna's maximum temperature is likely to be around 16 degrees Celsius. Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 4.8 degrees Celcius on Saturday.
