New impetus to bilateral relations: India-Guinea sign LoCs for infrastructure projects

New Delhi, December 5: Foreign Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar today had an important meeting with the Foreign Minister of Guinea Mamadi Toure who is on India’s visit. In the meeting, the two nations signed LOCs for Conakry water supply project & two solar projects.

“Pleasure to receive FM Mamadi Touré of Guinea. Opening of our Embassy in Conakry this year has added a new impetus to our relations. Welcome the signing of LOCs for Conakry water supply project & two solar projects, reflecting the ISA commitment,” tweeted S. Jaishankar. 
 
 
 
India Extended a New Line of credit of USD 170 million for Conakry Water supply project. In August this year, President Ram Nath Kovind had visited Guinea. The visit was crucial in strengthening bilateral relations. The Conakry Water supply project aims to fulfill the immediate water supply and drainage needs of Conakry, the capital of Guinea and provides satisfactory sanitation to most of its population, and strengthen institutions operating in the sector. India is going to open its embassy in Conkary next year.
