Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates AIR Nellore center

Nellore, Feb 21: Marking the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu today inaugurated the All India Radio's FM Station at Nellore.

Naidu who is a native of Nellore began his speech in Telugu and said that people of Nellore will have access to All India Radio’s programming in the local language with local flavor. "Radio plays an important role in safeguarding different languages, " said Naidu.

 



Mentioning about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Man Ki Baat ’, Naidu stated that Radio broadcasting in the world has made a comeback in the era of continuous bombardment of visual content and various digital platforms.

Terming Radio as a favoured companion, the Vice President opined that the medium provides clean, soft and assuaging entertainment along with hard news and honest analysis of events.

On this occasion, Naidu appreciated the efforts of All India Radio officials and support staff for the speedy and remarkable progress for the prestigious venture. 

Venkaiah Naidu, during his tenure as the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, had laid the foundation stone for the  FM Nellore center of All India Radio.
