‘Khelo India App’ launched by techno-savvy Prime Minister Modi motivating the youth towards fitness

New Delhi, February 27: In an innovative and creative way, first of its kind sports application ‘Khelo India App’ was launched by honourable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi today at the National Youth Parliament Festival 2019.

 

“The Khelo India app is a direct result of PM Narendra Modi’s vision for a fit, tech savvy India - harnessing the power of Digital India to further the goals of fitness, and searching for young champions!”, said Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore who also was proudly present for the launch of this unique app.

 

The Sports Authority of India announced the launch of the Khelo India mobile app which aims to bring awareness on fitness and sports among general public and youngsters in particular. The app will also prove to be handy for mapping budding sports champions from the nook and corners of the country.

 

The mobile app which can be downloaded on any phone includes an exhaustive repository of data of sporting facilities across the country where an interested youngster can pursue a sport, in his or her hometown.

One of the dynamic features of the app is fitness assessment of the children. It will help to map the basic fitness levels of kids starting as early as 5 years for all school going children in India, and help to identify children who have the potential of being future sports championships. Even schools can download the school version of the app to assess fitness of their students.

 

The application is developed by Sports Authority of India under Khelo India Scheme of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
