Young and full of fire..! Meet India’s top 30 Under 30
February 6: Generally it is said that age is not a variable when you are achieving something but, when you are achieving something extraordinary at a fascinatingly young age, you ought to be recognised right? To acknowledge this young force in India, ‘Forbes India’ has published its sixth edition of ‘30 under 30’.
The Forbes India 30 Under 30 List accentuates that the country’s young business leaders and professionals have pulled their way beyond passion, grit and potential. Entrepreneurs seeing the impact of India’s growing internet boom, sportspersons and those in the entertainment world setting new benchmarks and especially those from creative fields like design and fashion prove that one needs to consistently deliver the goods to have a solid body of work that can be spoken about in glowing terms.
The 2019 list consists of a fascinating number of female achievers under 30 including famed athlete Hima Das, Maharashtrian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, digital diva Prajakta Koli, Fashion industry stars Kanika Goyal, Tina and Nikita Sutradhar, Singer Meghna Mishra and entrepreneurs Karyna Bajaj, Tanvi Johri, Aditi Agarwal and Anjali Menon.
Interestingly, overtaking all the Bollywood stars, rising star from Telugu cinema Vijay Deverakonda made it to the list of 2019.
This year, companies are looking at the larger picture. In the case of smallcase, a finance firm led by IITians Vasanth Kamath, Anugrah Shrivastava and Rohan Gupta, the venture is not just selling products but also changing the way people invest. Technology continues to impact agriculture in a major way and Ninjacart, led by Kartheeswaran KK, Sharath Loganathan and Ashutosh Vikram, is ensuring retailers get fresh fruits and vegetables directly from farmers. The same alacrity is shown by Lal10 co-founders Maneet Gohil, Sanchit Govil and Albin Jose who help hotels and departmental chains source products in quick time from rural artisans. Abhinay Bhasin is the 26 years old Associate Director of South Asia, Data Sciences, Dentsu Aegis Network.
Forbes chose these achievers across 16 categories on the basis of four broad criteria, the impact of their achievements, their ability to disrupt the environment they operate in, the scalability of the business or line of work, and their potential to stay a long-term talent.
