New Delhi, March 25: The abduction and forceful conversion of two Hindu girls has exposed the cruel face of Pakistan and the atrocities pondered on the minorities. Having a strong stand on minorities, India on Sunday raised the issue the abduction of the two Hindu girls in Pakistan's southern Sindh province. In an official note verbale to Pakistan Foreign office, India shared its concern and called for suitable remedial action by the neighbour nation.

The move comes forward with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asking the Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan Ajay Bisaria to send a report on the abduction of Hindu girls on Twitter. India further called on the Pakistan government to "protect and promote safety, security and welfare of it's own citizens, especially from the minority communities."

Asking for a report on the abduction of the Hindu girls did not go well with Pakistan's Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry. Giving a befitting reply, EAM Sushma Swaraj responded, “I only asked for a report from Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad about the kidnapping and forced conversion of two minor Hindu girls to Islam. This was enough to make you jittery. This only shows your guilty conscience.”

Well, as Pakistan has always given a ‘whatever’ attitude towards atrocities on minorities, the Pakistani police have said that the Hindu girls Reena and Raveena, hailing from village Hafiz Salman near the town of Daharki in Sindh, embraced ‘Islam’ on their own will. The Ghotki’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) informed Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Iman that the two girls have embraced Islam as said to their parents.

Karachi’s Central Police Office (CPO) claimed that the two Hindu girls who left their house stated in a recorded video that neither anyone had abducted them nor held them hostage as they had left their home on their own will and have embraced Islam without any pressure.

Earlier, Reena, aged 14, and Raveena, aged 16 left their home as parents said that they had been abducted. The heirs and relatives had also held a protest demonstration on National Highway for the recovery of the girls. The protesters, carrying placards and banners, were chanting slogans against the police for not taking firm action and were demanding immediate recovery of the girls and arrest of the accused. They alleged that police were silent over the issue. However, police started a search for the girls and also arrested one suspect Ahmed Shah while the search for other accused persons was underway.

Strongly raising the issue of minorities in Pakistan, India has voiced staunchly and has raised the issue of minorities for months now. Imran Khan has tweeted about the situation of minorities in India on multiple occasions. But to no avail the authorities have always given a blind eye to these situations.
