Bengaluru, March 29: Thursday’s night IPL match was nothing but a tug of war as Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by six runs at in IPL T20 in Bengaluru last night. Requiring six runs off the final ball in the 188-run chase to take the game into Super Over, on-field umpires completely missed a no-ball. It was only later found out through replays that pacer Lasith Malinga had bowled a no-ball as Bangalore had to be content with 181 for 5 in 20 overs.

MI also had a half-chance to dismiss de Villiers the following over, however, the South African legend’s pull-shot off Hardik’s bowling fell just short of a diving Suryakumar. The former South African captain then went after Lasith Malinga, hitting him for a couple of sixes and a four to make it 41 runs from 24 balls.

AB de Villiers was the top-scorer as he scored unbeaten 70 runs in 41 deliveries. Bangalore skipper Kohli has become the second man after Suresh Raina to complete 5000 runs in IPL during his knock. In today's match, Sun Risers Hyderabad will meet Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad.

In this year's IPL, this was the second big controversy after the ‘Mankading’ controversy involving captain of Kings XI Ravichandran Ashwin.
