Mumbai, April 11: Instilling the values of co-operation, fairness and justice in a democratic society, education has always morally played an important role in the society. These values essentially have further strived to maintain and improve functioning of the democracy at large. Way ahead, when we tend monitor the autocrat’s position, we hardly get to see qualified persons wanting to head the society.

Referring to a query raised regarding the bond between education and politics in a broad view, every politician, being an educated pupil makes a valid sense, as there is a significant difference in a thinking procedure of an educated leader and that of an uneducated one. Maintaining a better understanding with the masses, resolving the issues abide, understanding their demands is what they can do really better.
However, turning other way round, many of the less educated political heads have nailed it in the earlier periods, but that probably is because of their valuable experience. It is in India, that maximum old leaders have a better knowledge of the essential problems of our country or of their respective area but the way they can solve such type of problems is quiet different when compared to the working style of a young or academically profiled leader.
Citing the Lok Sabha elections, starting “phase one” today, it is solely in the state of Maharashtra that it is introducing seven doctors ready contesting the elections from amongst the 48 constituencies. Of the seven doctor contestants, four belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party, while one each belongs to the Shivsena, the Nationalist Congress Party and the Indian National Congress.

Dr Heena Gavit, Dr Sujay Vikhe, Dr Subhash Bhamare and Dr Bharati Pawar are set to contest elections from Nandurbar, Ahmednagar, Dhule and Dindori constituency respectively. While, with Dr Shrikant Shinde of Shivsena competing from Kalyan, Dr Amol Kolhe, (doctor turned politician of NCP) and Dr Namdev Usendi of INC will be contesting from Shirur and Gadchiroli constituency respectively.
Observing the fourth phase of election procedure in Maharashtra, scheduled as on 29th of April, Dr Heena Gavit of BJP is to match against K C Padavi of the Indian National Congress from the Nandurbar Constituency. Being a doctor by profession, Dr Gavit marks to be the youngest member of the 16th Lok Sabha. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, she defeated Manikrao Hodlya Gavit, a nine-time MP from Nandurbar. Heena's victory of margin was 106905 votes at that time.
Following this, Dr Subhash Bhamre of BJP is to match against Kunal Rohidas Patil of Indian National Congress from Dhule constituency. An oncologist by profession, Dr Bhamre is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha. He did his medical studies in Mumbai at Grant Medical College, JJ Hospital and Tata Cancer Hospital, and wrote a research paper on breast cancer for the International Cancer Conference in Hungary. However, Dr Bharati Pawar, who entered BJP in the month of February 2019, will lead against Dhanraj mahale of INC for Dindori constituency.
Dr Shrikant Shinde, representing Kalyan constituency of Maharashtra, is son of Eknath Shinde the Cabinet Minister of Public Works (MSRDC, Public Undertaking) in Government of Maharashtra. Being an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Shinde will be contesting the poll from Kalyan. However, the opposite contestant in this case is yet to be announced.
Talking of the newly joined BJP member Dr Sujay Vikhe Patil, he acts as the Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation. Posturing the professional aura he owns, he will be matching the poll from the Ahmednagar constituency, the opposition being a question yet.
Meanwhile, newly joined NCP member Dr Amol Kolhe pulls up to contest against Shivaji Adhalrao Patil of ShivSena from Shirur. Dr Kolhe, being an influential actor in Marathi industry, was the leader of Shivsena in Pune district since in 2016.
With these few professionals, heading to lead the democracy, this makes all forces struggle repeatedly for the realization of their interests, being the devolution of power from a group of people to a set of rules.
