Wayanad, Apr 17: The Lok Sabha elections are on the peak. The 2nd phase of voting is approaching, the campaigning is in full swing. Today Congress President Rahul Gandhi began his campaign in Kerala’s Wayanad, one of the seats he is contesting.

Before addressing the public, Rahul Gandhi visits the Thirunelli temple, the holy place where his father, former PM Rajiv Gandhi’s ashes were immersed. Ahead of his campaign, where he is contesting, Congress President Rahul Gandhi launched a new Twitter account named ‘Rahul Gandhi-Wayand’.

As he kicked off his day-long campaign in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being the "most anti-national" and accused him of "dividing the nation". Reacting to PM Modi's allegation of the Congress turning anti-national, Rahul Gandhi said his grand old party has an exceptional track record of fighting forces that attack the nation.

While addressing the public, Rahul Gandhi said, “I came here as a son, brother, and friend to you.”

He said, “I have not come here as a politician who is going to tell you what to do or what I think. I am not here to tell you my 'Mann ki Baat', I am here to understand what is inside your heart, your soul”.

He expressed his feeling towards south India, and said, “Kerala is an example of peaceful co-existence”.

Further, he said, “I am not like the PM of India, I'll not come here and lie to you because I respect your intelligence, wisdom, and understanding. I don't want to have a relationship of a couple of months with you, I want to have a life long relationship with you”.

He criticized Government over Rafale deal, and said, “Narendra Modi divided the country and made the country fight within itself. The most anti-national thing to be done in this country today is creating a situation by which 27,000 youngsters are losing their job every 24 hours. Anti-national behavior is crippling our agricultural system and forcing thousands of farmers to commit suicide is anti-national behavior”.

In conclusion, Rahul Gandhi said, “you are not only the voice of Wayand, but you are also not only the voice of Kerala, but you are also the voice of India”.
