Patna, April 20: Addressing the overwhelming crowd at Bihar, PM Modi asserted that every Indian is firstly an Indian and everything else later and said, “Our first identity is that of being an Indian and only after that we belong to a particular community or religion.”

In this context, PM Modi further reminded his supporters about the soft approach on terrorism during the Congress-led UPA governments saying, “Everybody remembers clearly how the Congress-led government did not do anything after the dastardly 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Even then the security forces of our country had asked for permission to give a strong response to terror that would deter such attacks in the future. But the Congress governments refused to act. Why? Because they feared to lose their vote banks if any anti-terror action was undertaken. Furthermore, despite knowing that the perpetrators were Pakistanis, the government at that time focussed its efforts in linking terrorism to Hinduism and coining the term ‘Hindu Terror.’”

He further added, “A similar story happened in the Batla House encounters in Delhi where senior Congress leaders were teary-eyed for the death of serial killers and terrorists by our brave armed forces.”

PM Modi also said that contrasting the lethargic policy of appeasement and vote banks on national security matters under the UPA and NDA, Prime Minister Modi said, “Ever since we took over in 2014, the people of India have seen what is ‘politics of patriotism’ and how India got rid of its soft approach on terrorism and responded very strongly after both the Uri and Pulwama terror attacks by conducting surgical strikes in response to the former and Balakot air strikes for the latter. This is the policy paradigm of our ‘New India,’ neither it tolerates any attacks on its soil nor does it compromise on the security of its citizens anymore.

Speaking at length about the BJP government’s push to develop North-Eastern India at par with the rest of the country, PM Modi described several major infrastructural projects that have been initiated and completed under the NDA government in the North-East region and said that such projects in the highway, construction and telecommunication sectors will go a long way in ensuring rapid development for states like Bihar while also providing employment opportunities to the local youth there.

Lastly, PM Modi appealed his supporters to keep the growth engine of Bihar moving at a rapid pace by voting for the BJP in the ongoing General elections.
